Winter is Upon Us

Snowflakes are already swirling this morning and we scrambled all day yesterday to make sure the farm was winter ready! We had our official last harvest of the season and picked some beautiful baby chard, radicchio, celery, leeks, & fennel. Even though the crops are out of the ground, we will continue to grow microgreens and experiment with some other hardy greens in containers through the winter months.
After the veggies were picked, we moved on to clean up. Fences, ground fabric, & irrigation lines were all pulled and stored away. Tools were collected. In two of the tunnels, which will be planted first next spring, we added chicken manure from the summer coop and tilled. The other two will house chickens for the winter and be the future home for tomatoes, peppers, and eggplant!

We are definitely looking forward to a little bit of a slow down this week, and then it's right back in to planning next season!

We have lots of beautiful farm fresh eggs again this week!
Hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving celebration!
