Transitions
The change of pace with the rain and clouds the last few days has been greatly welcomed. I always feel like an overcast day gives you permission to take a moment to slow down and have a quiet day. We are in the midst of big transitions and the reset feels nice. We are approaching fall, the start of school, darker days, and prepping for some fun events at the farm. (More on that to come;) All of those things mark a change in focus. As crazy as it sounds, we are still planting

Cherry Tomatoes & Eggs, but No Farm Box This Week!
Quick update this week. We took the opportunity to sneak away from the farm over the weekend and spend some quality time with family adventuring to the MN Renaissance Festival & Como Zoo! We had an absolute blast, but are sorry to say...that means we don't have enough time to put together a Farm Box this week. We do still have Cherry Tomatoes & Eggs available to order this week though. We also plan to come loaded to the GR Farmer's Market this Saturday! Order Cherry Tomatoes

Farm Box, Eggs, & Tomatoes!
It's one of my favorite times of year...the first Sweet Peppers are ready! Just like tomatoes, it's one of the most satisfying crops to grow when you get it right. There is so much time committed to growing these crops, and the wait is long! We've had a few set backs this year... Between the pesky deer snacking on the tops of almost every plant, not getting the support netting in place early enough, and really annoying chipmunks stealing and biting low hanging fruit, we are p

Even though it feels like it lasts forever in the moment, we know how fleeting this season really is, so we are making the most of it. Enjoy the flavors of summer while you can and enjoy another flavorful Farm Box this week! Contents of August 5th Farm Box: Tomatoes Green Beans OR Cabbage Carrots Scallions Leek Cucumbers Zucchini

Heat Wave = Tomato & Peach Season!
(Pictured: Last week's Farm Box) Surviving this heat wave, and making sure all the plants survive too, has been a big challenge! We've been watering constantly, harvesting in the early morning and late night, using shade cloths, and overall just hoping for the best. With the tunnels reaching temperatures over 100 degrees, it's been dangerous to spend too much time during the day doing farm work. That's why this week we postponed the weekly Farm Pick Up to Thursday. Most of th

It's Time to Get Your Gardens Growing!
The suns out, the weather is warm, and it is time to plant! Things are growing wonderfully on the farm, and we expect to see a lot of growth over the next week with the temps topping out in the 80s and staying warm in the 50s at night. It's already time to prune our tomatoes and the Sugar Snap peas have hit the top of the 6' fence already! Shade will also be essential this week for our tender spring lettuce and cool loving crops. Growth
Warmer temps are forecast and spring is on its way! Tunnel #1 is looking great and the plants are putting on some nice growth. With hopefully more sun on the horizon, things are really going to take off. We've started prep on Tunnel #2 this week, which will be the future home of all our tomatoes, peppers, & eggplant! The first spring lettuce is not too far away! :) Everything is expanding quickly in the greenhouse too. Every day we are potting up plants and continuing to seed

Welcome March
March arrived and we really hit the ground running! We've seeded tens of thousands of seeds already including onions, herbs, flowers, strawberries, lettuce, and early brassicas. We will be seeding every week from now until about mid July! This allows us to have continual harvests throughout the entire season. Often, we replant certain crops at least 4 times a season. Some things, like lettuce, many many more than that! Seeding trays as fast as I can fill them! Our operation i
